Scientific Testing and Class-Based Research

In addition to its world-renowned collections, the Penn Museum is home to archaeological scientists, specialists, and cutting-edge laboratories. Penn classes and students working with collections are encouraged to make use of Penn Museum expertise and facilities for in-class projects as well as undergraduate and graduate student research projects.

Penn Classes

Penn instructors interested in incorporating scientific testing or intensive object research into their courses should work with Penn Museum staff during the planning stages for the course, before the semester begins. Penn Students

Penn undergraduate and graduate students interested in doing scientific analysis or intensive object research on a collection should visit the Student Research webpage and fill out the Research Request Form (check the box for scientific testing) to request access to relevant collections.
