Object-Based Teaching & Learning

Instructors can take any number of approaches to incorporate the Museum’s collections into their curriculum.

Explore Our Resources

Feel free to browse the galleries and exhibitions in person during our regular hours or access the collection from anywhere through our digital collections.

The website also has articles, blogs, lectures, and miscellaneous projects by students, staff, and faculty that can provide a springboard to thinking about the many ways classes can approach working with the Museum’s collection.

Method-Based Approaches

The Penn Museum’s collections document the history of the human experience from its earliest beginnings and are particularly well-suited to courses with an interest in anthropology & ethnography, art history & design, and archaeology.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Visits to the Penn Museum aren’t only for classes in Anthropology and Ancient History. We work with faculty from across the curriculum to develop class activities that incorporate the Museum’s galleries and collections as a platform for all types of learning.
