Explore topics important to you and your peers through discussion and activities with Teen Ambassadors. Then take what you have learned and host discussions for other teens through Teen Science Cafes.
About the Program
Through group discussion and hand-on activities, Teen Ambassadors explore topics important to them through anthropology and archaeology. Teen Ambassadors then take their new perspectives, combined with the museum’s exhibitions and pre-existing programs, tocreate new, engaging experiences for other teens.
Teen Ambassadors meet on a weekly basis, Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 October to May. Meetings are centered around discussions based on topics of the Ambassadors’ choosing. Based on those topics, the Ambassadors host bi-monthly events called ‘Teen Science Cafés’. In addition to hosting events for other high schoolers, Teen Ambassadors get behind-the-scenes tours of the Penn Museum and its collection, meet Penn professionals, and work closely with Museum departments.
- Teen Ambassadors will be expected to spend some time throughout the week reading provided articles to help prepare for the weekly meetings as well as working on their projects.
- The Penn Museum provides Teen Ambassadors with dinner and SEPTA Trans Passes.
