Walk in the footsteps of an Ivy League student on this exclusive guided experience!

University of Pennsylvania students provide an insider’s glimpse into the history, architecture, and student life at “Penn.” From the history behind Penn’s founder Benjamin Franklin to the historic student traditions that are still upheld today - groups will discover what makes America’s oldest University so unique!

Please Note: Penn Undergraduate Admissions provides separate tours for perspective undergraduate students. If you are a prospective undergraduate student, please contact The Penn Admissions Office to schedule your campus visit.

On this walking tour, groups will see:

  • Begin at the largest University Museum in the United States – the Penn Museum.
  • Wander down the beautifully scenic Locust Walk and view the almost 300-year rich history of Penn’s Campus.
  • View famous sites such as the Fisher Fine Arts Library – designed by legendary architect Frank Furness, which is regarded as one of the most important library buildings in the world and one of Philadelphia's great buildings and most important interiors.
  • Stop for a photo opportunity at Penn’s LOVE statue.
  • Learn the history of College Hall – the first building built on campus in 1871 and Houston Hall - America's first college union building,
  • Make a stop at the famous Wharton Business School - the world’s first collegiate school of business.
  • Conclude at the architectural marvel and cutting-edge research facility, the Singh Center for Nanotechnology.

Campus Tour Details:

  • Available for groups of 10 or more
  • Campus Tour led by current Penn students
  • All campus tours include admission to the Penn Museum
  • One campus guide per 30 participants
  • Campus tour is 60 minutes in length and outdoors (2.5 miles)
  • Departs rain or shine from the Penn Museum
  • Available 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, seven days a week
  • Penn Museum is closed Mondays, if you book your campus tour on a Monday you will receive admission pass to return another day
