If the galleries do not meet your course needs, our Collections Study Rooms are classroom spaces that facilitate student access to the thousands of objects housed in storage. These specially designed spaces provide an ideal environment for students to examine Museum artifacts “up close and personal” as part of their university curriculum. Instructors are encouraged to lead their students in observing, interpreting, synthesizing, analyzing, and organizing material culture in this space.
Classroom visits are best suited for groups of less than 20 students, although larger groups may be accommodated depending on space availability. Reservations for a collections study room are required at least three weeks in advance of your potential visit and can be made here. Requests should include: your intended lesson plan, what you would like your students to take away from their encounter with Museum artifacts, and a list of requested objects.

- To select objects from the collection, please visit our Digital Penn Museum database and create a MyFinds list. (Note: objects on display cannot be used in the classroom)
